The Physical/Health Effects of Staying Home All Day

The Physical/Health Effects of Staying Home All Day

Due to the pandemic, so many people are staying inside more, working from home, avoiding physical activity, and strait up- just becoming lazy.

I want to be the one to remind you – staying inside all day is not good! Physically, mentally, and emotionally. It was okay to take advantage of this pandemic when it first started to spread, meaning it was okay to stay home and do nothing all day. Now, months have passed, and it’s time to get moving again!

Some physical risks of prolonged inactivity include:

  • Increased inflammation
  • Loss of stamina
  • Weight gain
  • Loss of muscle strength
  • Lowered metabolism
  • Lowered Blood Circulation
  • Body aches

Some health risks of prolonged inactivity include:

  • Obesity
  • High Cholesterol
  • Stroke
  • Heart disease
  • Increased feelings of depression and anxiety

As you can see, the risks of an inactive lifestyle are never-ending. When you have feelings of laziness, and just can’t find the passion and/or motivation to move around, go outside, work-out, etc. You need to look at yourself and remember that we only have one body and one life. If you’re not going to take care of yourself or care about how you look, who will?

If you’re already experiencing pain due to prolonged inactivity,
here are some options that could help you:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Advanced pain procedures such as epidurals, facet injections, etc.
  • Joint Mobilization and Joint Injections
  • Massage Therapy
  • CBD oil
  • A gym membership

I hope this has helped you and/or motivated you to not sit inside and do nothing all day. It’s easy to get up, go for a jog or a walk, stretch, and to eat healthy. Your body will thank you in the end, trust me!
